29th June 2016

St Thomas' Church, Bradwell

St Thomas’ church will be open for refreshments and facilities on Saturday morning of the Festival. The walk starts at 11am with the Bishop of Bradwell at the Church and the Bishop of Colchester at The Green Man pub reading a Susan Sayers poem especially written for the occasion – ‘St Cedd and the Curlew’s Call’. The Springfield bell ringers will be ringing a quarter peal for the start of the walk.

The church  will be open all weekend for private reflective prayer, all welcome and on the Saturday afternoon Cream Teas will be available there. Transport is available to the village from St Peter’s Chapel all day.

On the Sunday morning the parish will join the Festival and the Othona Community for the morning Communion service in the Chapel, teas and coffee will be available after the service.
In the evening we have the Canonesses of the Holy Sepulchre conducting the service at St Peter’s Chapel at 6:30pm. The gate will be open to drive to the chapel for these services.
