Something’s stirring in the village of Little Dribblepatch…it’s Derek Tinkleberry, Donald Cornfoot and Edmund Sidebottam, otherwise known as Folk On – the finest comedy folk band to ever come out of the village of Little Dribblepatch.
Have you ever wondered who convinced Mumford & Sons to quit the removals business and swap their lorry for a tour bus? Well, it wasn’t Folk On, but they’d still like to think they were something of an inspiration to them Mumford boys (though they do owe Derek £10 for helping move a sofa once).
Folk On write and play folk songs of unity and community, of solving conflicts and unyielding happiness…with occasional songs about hopeless love lives, dead horses or Morris dancers. Like a brand new pair of slippers, there is something exciting yet entirely familiar about their music and stories. Folk On’s sound is honest and pure, with tight rural harmonies and melodies as sweet as village fete jam. Their songs and tales of rural life always bring a smile to the face, a laugh-filled tear to the eye and a desire to join in with a good old-fashioned village sing-along.
